Maple Grove Road Roundabout
At the intersection of Midway Road and Maple Grove Road outside of Hermantown, Minnesota was an extremely dangerous intersection. While Maple Grove Road had stop signs, traffic on Midway road went straight through at high speeds. St. Louis County elected to construct a roundabout at this intersection to improve traffic flow and, more importantly, keep people safe. The Northland team constructed the county’s first roundabout in record time, completing work before school started and winter weather set in.
