East 1st Street
Duluth, Minnesota is known for its hilly terrain, creating extra structural challenges in both road maintenance and building construction. Just northeast of Duluth’s downtown district, an aging rock retaining wall on East 1st Street was in disrepair. Northland built a 300-foot-long, 20-foot-tall retaining wall of concrete. This substantial wall was designed for stability, durability and integrity. It will add strength to the area to support a highly-trafficked road, and will protect new and existing buildings in the area.
